We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing materials and techniques, as well as the ability to work at heights safely. The Roofer will collaborate with other tradespeople and ensure that all work meets industry standards.
Responsibilities
Install roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, tiles, and metal.
Repair and replace damaged roofs, ensuring proper sealing and waterproofing.
Build and fabricate roof structures according to specifications.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete roofing tasks.
Read and interpret schematics to understand project requirements.
Perform heavy lifting as needed to transport materials and equipment.
Conduct masonry work related to roofing installations.
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on-site to ensure quality workmanship.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in roofing or a related trade is preferred.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with roofing work.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary for roofing installations.
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in roofing.
Basic knowledge of plumbing may be beneficial for certain roofing projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when fabricating or repairing roofs.
Ability to work at heights safely and effectively.
A valid driver's licence is advantageous for transporting materials to job sites.
