We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of roofing systems and techniques, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety on the job site. The Roofer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on various types of buildings.
Duties
Install Solar PV systems throughout Scotland
Repair and replace damaged roofing materials as needed.
Perform waterproofing and insulation tasks to ensure the longevity of roofing structures.
Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively in all aspects of roofing work.
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues with roofs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with other construction professionals such as electricians and heating engineers.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working at heights or in hazardous conditions.
Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required during the installation or removal of roofing materials.
Requirements
Proven experience in roofing or related trades is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret schematics related to roofing projects.
Familiarity with masonry techniques is advantageous.
Experience in Solar PV is a major plus but not essential.
Proficient in using both power tools and hand tools relevant to roofing tasks.
Strong physical fitness with the ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) regularly.
Knowledge of plumb principles is beneficial for ensuring proper installation practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for quality workmanship.
A valid driver's licence must be required for travel between job sites.
