We are delighted to invest further and expand our teams with a new opportunity for an experienced Roofer to join Gentoo's Property Maintenance team, working across the City of Sunderland. This new role highlights our dedication to growth and delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will play a key role working alongside a great maintenance team to carry out all responsive and planned roofing maintenance and replacement works to our customer homes across the city. A full UK driver's licence is required for this position.

The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.

Key responsibilities will include:

Work as part of team to carry out all responsive and planned roofing maintenance and replacement works safely.


Completion of all other roofing related duties including flat roofing works, gutter re-lines, replacements and cleans.


Ensure appropriate parts and materials are available to complete jobs in a timely manner whilst ensuring effective management of your van-based stock.


Provide excellent customer service by fostering clear communication and a respectful attitude toward customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.


Carry out all works to the relevant legal, obligatory and Gentoo Group standards.

What we are looking for:

A full UK driver's license.


A recognised (Indentured) craft apprenticeship in roofing or City & Guilds Advanced Craft certificate in roof, slating and tiling or NVQ level 2 in roof, slating and tiling.


Hot works training and TETRA Ladder Safety System Level 1-3.


Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations.


The ability to work at height and in external environments.


Effective communication and customer care skills.


A flexible approach to meet the demands of the role.


Competence in the use of handheld IT systems.


Openness for continual learning and developing skills in order to carry out duties and responsibilities.
