About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled

Roofer

to join our team as a

Tutor/Skills Coach

. In this role, you will deliver engaging training sessions, assess occupational competency, and support the development of apprentices and students in either Waterproofing, Slating & Tiling, or Sheeting & Cladding disciplines. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring high attendance, retention, and achievement rates.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Delivery

Plan and deliver engaging, effective training sessions for groups of apprentices and students. Develop and implement training programs that lead to successful outcomes. Conduct Off-the-Job Training Workshops and Study Programme sessions. Monitor and manage Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to track apprentice progress. Ensure training delivery aligns with employer needs and industry standards.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

Conduct initial assessments and set challenging yet achievable targets. Assess student/apprentice portfolios and provide constructive feedback. Conduct regular reviews of progress and document findings. Facilitate workplace visits to support apprentices in achieving their qualifications. Prepare apprentices for End-Point Assessment (EPA) using the NOCN RUBRIC platform.

Student Engagement & Retention

Ensure student and apprentice attendance and retention targets are met. Provide ongoing support to help students develop essential English and maths skills. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Performance & Targets

Work towards set performance targets to meet contractual obligations. Maintain high standards of training delivery and assessment.

What We're Looking For

Relevant industry experience in Roofing (Waterproofing, Slating & Tiling, or Sheeting & Cladding). Recognised teaching or training qualification (or willingness to work towards one). Strong communication and organisational skills. Passion for training and development with the ability to motivate learners.
