Fledglings Room Leader



Hours:

8:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced

Room Leader

to join our Early Years team. You will lead our Nursery (Fledglings) provision, ensuring that every child is happy, safe, and flourishing. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support each child's development, while upholding the high standards and ethos of Nash House.

Key Responsibilities



Create a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring environment where children can thrive. Collaboratively plan high-quality provision with a focus on the Prime Areas of learning. Support and guide the Fledglings team to build strong, positive relationships with key children and their families. Lead daily operations including planning, toileting, nappy changing, and snack preparation. Represent the Fledglings team in teacher, room leader, and pastoral meetings. Monitor and support professional development of your team, including leading appraisals and identifying CPD opportunities. Lead smooth transitions into the Fledglings room and from Fledglings into Nursery. Conduct home visits to determine key person allocations and support settling-in following school policies. Use Tapestry to lead on observations and assessment, ensuring each child's learning is documented with care and insight. Liaise with the SENCo to provide timely support for children not making expected progress. Identify and request resources to enhance the provision. Stay informed on best practices for 2-3-year-olds and share insights with the leadership team. Provide support to staff during Parents' Evenings and when liaising with families as needed.

Who We're Looking For



Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education Previous experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role within a nursery or Early Years setting Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework Confident using digital assessment tools (e.g. Tapestry) Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills Deep commitment to child-centred practice, safeguarding, and inclusive education Warm, nurturing, and proactive approach with children and families Willingness to contribute fully to school life and uphold Nash House values
