Key Responsibilities
Quality of Care
Maintain required standards, staff-child ratios, and registration conditions.
Lead planning and deliver engaging, creative, and age-appropriate learning opportunities.
Observe and track children's progress, contributing to individual development plans.
Ensure room resources are well-maintained and replenished as needed.
Promote positive behaviour and a supportive atmosphere for all children.
Uphold and model adherence to all nursery policies and procedures.
Leadership & Team Management
Provide daily leadership to room staff and ensure smooth routine implementation.
Train and support staff in best practices and policy adherence.
Monitor and uphold high standards of care and cleanliness.
Delegate responsibilities and coordinate staff breaks and lunches effectively.
Support team morale and manage staffing issues with guidance from the management team.
Health & Safety
Carry out daily risk assessments of indoor and outdoor environments.
Ensure all areas are clean, tidy, and well-organized.
Implement and manage cleaning schedules and hygiene standards.
Parent Partnerships & Communication
Build strong relationships with parents through daily verbal feedback and the Seesaw app.
Maintain clear, accurate records (e.g., accidents, medication, safeguarding).
Protect confidentiality at all times and liaise with the management team as required.
Professional Conduct & Development
Be punctual, flexible, and dependable.
Act as a professional role model in behaviour, communication, and presentation.
Attend regular meetings and participate in all mandatory training.
Actively engage in performance reviews and personal development plans.

Qualifications and Experience:
Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent, or in the process of completing.
Experience in a nursery or early years setting, with some leadership responsibility preferred.
Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and early years best practices.
