We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for young learners. The Room Leader will play a vital role in coordinating activities, supporting team members, and ensuring smooth shift transitions. Previous experience in early childhood education or nursery settings is highly desirable.
Duties
Supervise and support staff during designated shifts, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
Oversee daily activities within the nursery or childcare environment, ensuring a safe and engaging space for children
Coordinate schedules and allocate tasks among team members to optimise operational efficiency
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management regarding children's progress and any concerns
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Lead by example in delivering high-quality childcare services and maintaining professional standards
Assist with organising educational activities and developmental programmes for children
Support staff training and development initiatives to enhance team performance
Manage behavioural issues promptly and professionally, fostering positive behaviour among children
Requirements
Proven management and leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members
Experience working with children, ideally in early childhood education or nursery environments
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in childcare
Valid driving licence is preferred for transport-related responsibilities
Ability to work flexible hours across different shifts, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
Passionate about providing excellent care and fostering a nurturing environment for children
Organised, proactive, with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 27,500.00-30,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
High Wycombe HP13: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
L3 Childcare qualification or above (preferred)
