We are seeking a natural leader who has a passion for engaging a team and is full of fun ideas! As a room leader, you will be key to engaging a dynamic team to continue to create a safe, comforting and enabling environment for the children within our care.
The role will be within our 2 year old room where we encourage the children to develop their independent skills in a safe and fun way alongside the key physical, personal and social and Communication skills.
Job Summary
Qualified to a minimum of Level 3
A commitment to continual professional development, undertaking additional training as required
Develop an excellent understanding of the philosophy and ethos of The Blue Strawberry Kids Day Care Ltd

Administer First Aid as appropriate; on the condition that a full and relevant paediatric First Aid Certificate is in place
Ensure that all accidents are managed appropriately and recorded on relevant documentation
Upholding a safe environment for the children; having good knowledge of all risk assessments and COSH regulations.
Responsible for organising the safe evacuation of children and staff during a fire drill remaining calm at all times
Delegate roles throughout the day to ensure a safe and clean environment
Maintain and uphold a clean, safe and hygienic working environment for the children
Uphold quality customer service in relation to the children, parents and potential customers
Encourage parental involvement and initiate close liaisons with parents.
Deal with complaints from parents as necessary
Responsibilities for ensuring that the weekly planning is completed, assuring that all staff have an opportunity to participate.
Model best practice, engaging in play and interactions with the children continuously; the children must always be a priority and at the centre of all actions undertaken
Providing safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities, preparation of activities and organising the planning to meet children's individual needs.
Ensure that children's progress is tracked appropriately, such as on entry reports and 2 year checks.
Undertake the role of a key worker for small groups of children providing you are based permanently in a room.
Lead, manage, guide and support your team to ensure that they remain enthusiastic and motivated in their own roles.
Develop appropriate relationships with work colleagues, ensuring that positive working environments and effective communication within the team is maintained.
Manage staff welfare issues initially prior to involving a Senior Manager
Effectively integrate new colleagues into the working environment, inducting them as appropriate..
Attend staff meetings as required.
