We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to oversee daily operations within 50 place new nursery.
The ideal candidate will possess Level 3 qualifixation in earlybyears child care and leadership skills. A minimum of 12 months work experience at a nureery is also desirable
This role involves supervising staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and maintaining high standards of childcare.
You will play a vital role in supporting team members and delivering exceptional care to children, fostering a positive atmosphere for both staff and families.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support team members during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee children's activities, ensuring safety, engagement, and developmental appropriateness
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management regarding children's progress and any concerns
Assist in planning and implementing educational programmes aligned with early childhood education principles
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Manage daily administrative tasks such as attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports
Lead by example in demonstrating excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a caring attitude
Support staff development through coaching and mentoring to promote a cohesive team environment
Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency
Requirements
Proven management or leadership experience within childcare or nursery settings
Strong understanding of early childhood education practices and child development
Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or childcare environments
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively under pressure.
Genuine passion for working with children and creating a nurturing environment
Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Flexibility to work during scheduled shifts, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required
