Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Room Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will be looking for an exciting new position in an up and coming new nursery, with a passion for working with children. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure a safe and nurturing environment, and contribute to the development of young children. The Room Leader will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, coordinating activities, and supporting staff members during their shifts.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support childcare staff during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery at all times Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies as required Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental progress Assist with organising daily schedules and ensuring that all activities adhere to organisational policies Lead by example to promote a positive, inclusive, and professional environment Manage behavioural issues promptly and appropriately, providing guidance to staff when necessary Support new staff members through training and mentorship programmes

Skills

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written Experience working with children, including nursery or early childhood education experience Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively Knowledge of child development principles and health & safety regulations in childcare environments
