Job Description

As the Toddler Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the toddler room (approximately 1 to 2 years), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can develop and thrive. You will lead a team of practitioners, plan age-appropriate activities, and work closely with parents and colleagues to deliver high-quality early years care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the toddler room team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to staff. Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Monitor and support the developmental progress of each child, maintaining accurate records and learning journals. Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers through regular communication and meetings. Support children's emotional well-being, independence, and social development through consistent routines and positive reinforcement. Conduct key person responsibilities, including settling in new children and liaising with families. Work closely with the nursery manager and other room leaders to maintain high standards of care and education. Participate in regular staff meetings, training, and development opportunities. Promote inclusive practices, ensuring that every child's individual needs are met. Carry out daily risk assessments and ensure all health and safety requirements are upheld. Ensure the room is well-resourced, organized, and reflective of the children's interests and needs.
