As the under 3's room supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing safe, high-quality education and care for children aged three and above. You will oversee day-to-day operations within the nursery setting, ensuring that legal and statutory requirements are met. This role requires strong leadership to manage staff effectively while implementing early years policies and practices that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily activities and routines within the room, ensuring a high standard of care and education for all children.
Lead a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote early childhood development.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor children's behaviour and development, addressing any issues promptly and appropriately.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team environment focused on the well-being of the children.
Skills
Level 3 Childcare Qualification (minimum) with willingness to further develop professionally.
Minimum of two years' experience working within early years education.
Knowledge of EYFS regulations, child development, and safeguarding policies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with children, parents, and staff.
Leadership and organisational skills to manage staff and oversee educational planning.
Patience, adaptability, and creativity in working with young children.
