Wood is recruiting for a Rope Access Technical Authority to provide technical support to Operations Management and Rope Access delivery team. In this role you will be responsible for managing Woods IRATA accreditation, both locally and internationally. The position sits in our Operations Business Unit and is based in Aberdeen with hybrid working.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the Operations Business and Wood delivery team. You will be a technical focal point and ensure guidance and mentoring to Rope Access team.
You will carry out inspections and internal audits as specified by the Quality plan and undertake site visits / surveys to support scopes of work.
You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with Wood functions including Delivery teams, Construction and Technical Functions, HSEQ and HR to ensure successful project deliveries across the business.

To provide technical support to the Operations Manager and Rope Access delivery team and for the assurance and compliance of the subject matter in line with Company, National and International standards, guidelines and codes of practice
Identify and develop opportunities to grow the Rope Access business, internally and externally
Have a good understanding of the Company's Health, Safety and Quality and Environmental Policies
Carry out periodic review of Company procedures and have a full understanding of appropriate IRATA documentation, including ICOP and TACS and regulations such as Work at Height Regulation
Promote discipline awareness capability internally and externally
Act as technical owner of the corporate competency standard for Rope Access within the Competence Management System (CMS)
Ensure that all direct reports are aware of their responsibilities with regard to the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and their obligations for safe working
Provide recommendations for Continuous Improvement
Provide a technical focal point for region and other regions as necessary
Provide knowledge, innovations, industry best practice and lessons learnt to Rope Access staff
Ensure compliance and best practice adoption
Activity promotes and drive safety in the system design and execution
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of professional and industrial technology and research in order to drive best practice into the service offering

Expected:
Extensive experience in practical Rope Access operations
IRATA level 3 certification (or have held)
IOSH Managing Safely of equivalent
