Shifts vary from 06:00am -19:30pm Monday to Friday


Weekends are 1:5 on call rotation

Your role and responsibilities




We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated team member to join our Nursing team. As a

Rotating Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

, you'll play a critical role in supporting our clinical operations and delivering exceptional care.


This dynamic position offers exposure to both

ward and theatre environments

, giving you the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience. You'll work closely with our nursing team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and support.



We are looking for a passionate individual who will strive to maintain the highest clinical and professional standards. You will be working in a fast-paced team that requires a great eye for detail and patient care.





This is a hands role, and although experience working with animals is beneficial, it is not essential as formal training will be provided.





The responsibilities of a Rotating PCA includes, but are not limited to:



Assist with patient handling and restraint. Ensuring that all handling and restraint is carried out in a 'patient friendly' approach to ensure no unnecessary stress or discomfort to the patient. Prepare and maintain patient accommodation considering the condition and welfare of the patient, environmental enrichment and additional supporting aids as necessary. In-patient care to include exercising, feeding, and grooming of hospitalized patients. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and clinical standards. Monitor and maintain clinical areas, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and well-organised. Cleaning and sterilising of surgical kits and equipment for procedures Cleaning and turning theatres around between procedures Assisting in theatre when required Liaising with surgical nursing team Assisting other departments when required. Assist the Veterinary Surgeons, Registered and Student Veterinary Nurses, Reception staff and any other team member who requires support, where and when required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:



Experience (desired) of working within a clinical and/or high-pressured environment, and/or experience of working with animals within a professional or personal capacity. Ability to work under pressure and stay calm. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner. Good time management skills Working within a busy team and can work on own initiative. Methodical approach to working. Passion for the welfare of animals.
