We are looking to recruit an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with NHS experience who is an enthusiastic, motivated therapist and who can demonstrate commitment and passion to the provision of high-quality person-centred, evidence based care.



You will need to have a background in acute and/or community Occupational therapy provision, have a good understanding of the mental capacity act and be skilled in mentoring & supervising junior colleagues.

You would be based at Torbay Hospital in the wonderful location of Torbay & South Devon. We are offering a full-time role, incorporating 6 monthly Rotations and contribution to our 7-day Service. Our Occupational therapy service places a high value on our staff development and wellbeing. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to set your work and development plan and will be supported by an experienced leadership team and active peer network.

In this role you will deliver expert occupational therapy interventions for patients across a variety of wards and settings within the acute hospital. as part of a senior 6 monthly rotational scheme.



You will Lead & support junior Occupational Therapists, assistants, and students.



Work within multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care across a variety of different clinical settings within an acute hospital - including admission avoidance areas, healthcare of the older person wards, medical wards and surgical wards.



Play a key role in complex discharge planning & rehabilitation strategies.



Be part of an integrated 7-day service improving patient outcomes.

You will provide high-quality, patient-centred Occupational Therapy care, as part of a 6monthly rotational programme, working across a variety of clinical settings within the acute hospital including admission avoidance areas, healthcare of the older person wards, medical wards and surgical wards



The focus of the role is to contribute to patient assessments, treatment planning, and complex discharge processes including supporting patients with cognitive impairment using the Mental Capacity Act 2005 best practice principles



Responsibilities include clinical leadership, supervision of junior staff and students, and participation in service development and audits.



You are required to complete accurate documentation and timely data input.



The role requires advanced therapeutic skills, effective communication with patients, carers, and external agencies, and compliance with national and local policies



Additionally, the post holder will support staff training and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.
