Job Description

We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will be expected to work closely with nursing and medical staff and with patients. You will be supported by a team of oncology pharmacy staff to deliver pharmaceutical services to patients on day case units and wards.

In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of 4,552 and a maximum payment of 5,735 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Technician participate in the dispensing of prescriptions for in-patients and out-patients and in associated pharmaceutical duties, including clinical trials and to carry out final checks in accordance with the department's accreditation scheme (once accredited by the Trust approved external scheme).
To participate in all other dispensary activities as designated by the Pharmacy technician team manager patient services or their deputy.
To participate in the "topping-up" service supplying stocks of medicinal products to wards and departments and participate in the 'non-stock' top up service to one stop wards.
To assist with purchasing as required according to departmental procedures and as per the departmental rota.
To counsel and provide information to patients/carers collecting their medication from the dispensary, according to procedures; to provide information about prescription payment, exemption, and further supplies as well.
