Job summary
Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose delivers the UK's two highest defence priorities: assuring the nuclear deterrent and protection of the nation's aircraft carriers. It is an operational Air Station with a workforce of 3000 personnel that are all directly or indirectly involved in generating or supporting the Naval Air Squadrons and their personnel.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Accommodation Assistant to join the Accommodation team here at RNAS Culdrose.
The Accommodation Team at RNAS Culdrose is responsible for managing accommodation services, ensuring the provision of suitable accommodation for all entitled personnel. This includes both permanent and temporary staff serving at RNAS Culdrose. The team works to allocate and oversee accommodation resources efficiently, supporting the operational needs of the establishment and its personnel.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description
The Accommodation Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the effective management of accommodation services at RNAS Culdrose. This position ensures that all entitled personnel, whether permanently or temporarily serving at the establishment, are provided with suitable accommodation. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to liaise with various departments and stakeholders to meet accommodation needs efficiently. The following responsibilities outline the key duties of the role:
Allocate accommodation within the Establishment using the designated booking system, ensuring charges are assigned where appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, Single Living Accommodation, contact houses, and additional accommodation for courses, exercises, ship refits, and other Station events.
Prepare and distribute daily and weekly joining forms for Hall Porters, Main Gate Staff, and the Unit Personnel Office (UPO), including stamping Joining and Leaving Routines as required.
Liaise with Block Supervisors regarding the allocation of billets and conduct visits to blocks when necessary.
Collaborate with Mess Managers, Hotel Services staff, and other departments to develop plans and provide recommendations for changes at RNAS Culdrose that impact accommodation requirements.
Process and confirm all accommodation requests, including the issuing and collection of keys.
Conduct monthly checks of all personnel living on board and produce a termly audit to verify charges in coordination with the Unit Personnel Office. Additionally, generate a weekly statement of the number of personnel accommodated.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
