Job overview - Support to the Neurology Divisional Team



Ensure RTT Performance Delivery

Support the achievement of Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets by monitoring, tracking, and resolving pathway issues to maintain high standards of patient care and service efficiency.

Data Validation on iCS PAS (Patient Administration System)

Perform thorough validation of patient data on the iCS PAS to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, supporting reliable reporting and service planning.

Information Input and Processing in Line with RTT Procedures

Accurately input, update, and process patient pathway information in accordance with RTT guidelines and Trust protocols, ensuring compliance and data integrity.

Advice and Guidance on RTT Rules and Patient Pathways

Act as a point of contact for RTT-related queries, providing expert advice and guidance on RTT rules and patient pathway management to Trust staff, promoting understanding and consistency.

Support and Guidance on Data Quality

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data quality across Neurology by identifying discrepancies, supporting audits, and offering guidance to staff on best practices in data entry and management.



Main Duties of the Job



Daily RTT Validation and Correction

Perform daily validation and correction of RTT (Referral to Treatment) clock stops to ensure accurate data entry, by comparing data supplied by the Information Department with entries on the PAS (Patient Administration System).

Waiting List Validation

Validate and correct patient entries on all Trust waiting lists to ensure accurate representation and prioritisation of patient care.

Referral Audit and IPTAMDS Validation

Conduct regular audits of referrals entered on PAS, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, including validation of Inter Provider Transfer Administrative Minimum Data Set (IPTAMDS) details.

Performance Validation

Review and validate RTT performance data prior to submission to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.

Case Note Review and Pathway Correction

Retrieve and review patient case notes and correspondence to verify correct pathway information, amending or re-entering data in PAS as necessary.

Guidance and Training

Provide expert advice and support to administrative and clerical staff on RTT rules, patient pathways, and data entry protocols to ensure consistent and compliant processes.

Liaison with Satellite Secretaries

Communicate with satellite site secretaries to collect RTT outcome data and ensure timely and accurate entry into PAS.

Report Running and Data Actioning

Run, review, and act upon key RTT and waiting list reports from PAS, including:

Closed RTT Pathways

Open Pathways - Referral Closed

Admissions over a specified period



Meeting Attendance

Attend weekly RTT Assurance Meetings to report on validation activity, data quality issues, and pathway concerns.

IPTAMDS Coordination

Obtain IPTAMDS information from other healthcare providers as required to ensure continuity of care and accurate tracking.

Participation in Change and Testing

Contribute to the development and implementation of changes to working practices, system functionality, and Trust policies and procedures. Participate in software testing for new or updated systems.

Ad Hoc Divisional Support

Provide administrative and validation support to the Neurology Divisional Team on an ad hoc basis, in line with service needs.
