About the Candidate




Are you passionate about aiding the development of young student athletes through their Rugby journey? We are looking for a dedicated and engaging Rugby Coach to join our sports academies team at Hartlepool Sixth Form College. As a changemaker in this role you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students.

About the Role




As a key part of the role you will inspire athletes to excel in their chosen sport of Rugby whilst contributing to the wider college and their academic subjects.


You will be a key member of a collaborative team that focusses on providing excellent learner experiences through the quality of our planning, coaching and management of the programme including the development of individuals, teams and scholarship athletes. You will assist and plan recruitment of new students to the programme by engaging with local school, club and performance pathways.

Role Responsibilities




To assist in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of the coaching programme to develop the young players using periodisation to inform your plans.


Perform organisational jobs which do not need your coaching skills e.g. keeping the register, assisting in the logging of voluntary hours and maintaining other paperwork.


Ensure the programme is sustainable through regular recruitment of new students to the college by building relationships with local schools, clubs and performance pathways.

Qualifications

England Rugby Coaching Award (Level 2) or relevant equivalent Level 2 Maths qualification Level 2 English qualification

Essential Skills & Experience



Successful experience of delivering excellent learner experience and outstanding outcomes. Ability to increase participation within Rugby by creating a competitive, developmental and inclusive environment. Be able to manage a Rugby curriculum throughout the academic year which includes daily training sessions, match day selection and squad management as well weekly analysis sessions

Desirable Skills & Experience - (Optional)



Experience of managing/building partnerships and relationships within the local area. Experience of working within the local area. For example, local clubs, schools, representative squads etc. Experience of working within player pathways and how to embed this within the Rugby programme. For example, exit routes on completion of study programme.
