Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre is seeking a proactive and experienced

Sailing Instructor's

to support our training activities throughout the 2026 season. This is a key operational role within a busy, community-focused Outdoor Activity Centre with an active programme of dinghy training, supervised sailing, youth development, Paddlesports and Land-based Activities.

Role Overview

Sailing instructors will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of RYA training sessions, ensuring high instructional standards and organisation, operational compliance, and a positive experience for members and course participants. The role combines on-the-water leadership with training centre responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities



Supporting the Chief Instructor to coordinate training activity. Deliver and supervise RYA dinghy training and club training activities. Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the training programme, including scheduling, risk assessments, and resource allocation. Maintain safety standards, oversee equipment care, and ensure RYA training centre compliance. Support and mentor instructors, volunteers, and assistant instructors. Promote a positive, inclusive training environment for adults, youth sailors, and new members.

Requirements



Current

RYA Senior Instructor

(Dinghy) qualification with a valid First Aid certificate. Strong organisation, leadership, communication, and team management skills. Commitment to high-quality instruction and safety culture. Willing to work flexibly with weekend and evening work. Experience working within a club-based training environment and racing knowledge is advantageous.

26th March 2026 - 31st October 2026

Hours:

Full time, including weekends and evening weekday sessions

Salary:

Competitive, dependent on experience
