My client is a well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal and equine practice based in beautiful Central Scotland. They are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team.
The practice is purpose-built and single-site, offering excellent facilities including six consult rooms, an imaging suite, a dental suite with dental x-ray, two theatres, endoscopy, multiparameter monitors and other anaesthetic monitoring equipment, plus in-house lab capabilities for bloods, urinalysis, and cytology. Visiting specialists in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery add further expertise.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team of vets, RVNs, and support staff who value teamwork and a positive working environment. The ideal person will enjoy building strong client relationships and providing a high level of patient care. For those interested in progression, there is the potential to step into a Senior or Clinical Director role.
This is a forward-thinking practice with genuine clinical freedom, encouraging vets to develop their interests and work up cases in-house wherever possible. The team includes two trained VetGDP advisors and prides itself on excellent diary management, with 15-minute appointments as standard, double slots for complex cases, dedicated emergency slots, and 30 minutes of catch-up time built in before the end of the day.
The out-of-hours rota is 1:5, with a day off after a weeknight on call and a long weekend off following a weekend on call. Nurses are on site 24/7 to assist with emergencies, triage calls, and provide inpatient care, helping ensure vets feel supported during OOH work. Overtime is rare, but where it occurs, time back is given. Three days a week finish at 5 pm, further supporting a good work-life balance.
The package includes:
**Salary up to 63,000 depending on experience
**6.8 weeks annual leave
**RCVS and VDS fees paid
**Generous CPD allowance (with certificates funded and encouraged)
**Health Shield and optional private medical insurance
**Enhanced sick pay and maternity pay
**Cycle to Work scheme and free onsite parking
**Cost-price treatment for your own pets
**Recruitment referral rewards
**Supportive, experienced colleagues excited to welcome a new team member
This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive, friendly, and supportive practice in a stunning location, with real scope for development and career progression.
