Are you passionate about driving excellence in care and safeguarding standards? We're looking for a Safeguarding and Quality Officer to play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality care across Nouvita's Adult Social Care and Talking Therapy services.



In this pivotal role, you'll ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality, and regulatory standards; contribute to continuous improvement; and promote a culture that prioritises safety, transparency, and learning



Reporting to the Head of Residential Care, this role will focus on embedding safeguarding best practice, leading quality reviews and audits, and supporting the development of effective systems for assurance and improvement.


What You'll Do:




Quality and Compliance




Conduct proportionate and evidence-based quality audits in line with CQC regulations and Nouvita's internal frameworks. Support services to implement improvement plans, ensuring timely follow-up and escalation where necessary. Analyse performance data, incidents, complaints, and feedback to identify trends and drive improvements. Contribute to the development and review of quality-related policies, procedures, and tools. Produce concise and clear reports for internal governance meetings, highlighting risks, outcomes, and recommendations. Work collaboratively with operational teams to promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Support inspection readiness activities and maintain accurate records of compliance activity. Promote service user involvement in quality monitoring processes, ensuring that the voice of the individual and their families informs all improvements.

Safeguarding




Act as a key point of contact for safeguarding matters, supporting services in the identification, escalation, and management of safeguarding concerns. Undertake information gathering to support safeguarding enquiries, ensuring robust and person-centred practice in line with "Making Safeguarding Personal" principles. Provide advice and guidance on safeguarding legislation, policy, and procedures, ensuring that learning from incidents is embedded across services. Support staff in recognising and responding appropriately to abuse, neglect, and organisational risk factors. Participate in safeguarding investigations, learning reviews, and debriefs where required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding frameworks and inter-agency protocols. Take an active part in local and national safeguarding forums Lead on Reducing Restrictive Practice in across all Nouvita Social Care Services

Risk and Governance




Support the effective implementation of risk management frameworks across services. Contribute to the review and learning from serious incidents, complaints, and safeguarding alerts. Provide input into the design and monitoring of compliance dashboards and key performance indicators. Escalate any concerns relating to practice, compliance, or safeguarding through appropriate channels.

Engagement, Training, and Support




Deliver or assist in the delivery of safeguarding and quality workshops, briefings, and reflective learning sessions. Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting trust and collaboration. Coach and mentor staff in best practice, person-centred care, and compliance standards. Encourage the sharing of learning across teams to embed a culture of safety and improvement.
Any other duties as reasonably requested.



Your Experience




Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in adult social care, working with individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities and/or autism. Proven experience in safeguarding, quality assurance, or compliance roles within health or social care. Experience in conducting audits, reviews, or investigations. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and liaising with regulatory bodies such as the CQC. Experience in developing and implementing service improvement or action plans.

Qualifications




Minimum Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Quality, Safeguarding, Health & Social Care, or Audit). Evidence of continuing professional development. GCSEs (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent in Maths and English.

Knowledge and Skills




Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, CQC Fundamental Standards, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks. Understanding of person-centred, strengths-based approaches to care. Knowledge of quality improvement, risk management, and governance principles. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify themes or risks. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Confident IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and audit systems.
