Job Description

The Business Manager to the Safeguarding Children Partnership is a key role in in Cheshire East and will need to be a highly organised safeguarding professional, with extensive experience of working with children, young people and their families.



The role will work closely with senior leaders from health, education, police, and social care to ensure the partnership delivers on its priorities and makes a measurable difference, embedding a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and child-centred practice.

We're offering an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated professional to lead the business operations of the Cheshire East Safeguarding Children Partnership (SCP). As the Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and coordinating effective multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across the borough.



You'll work closely with senior leaders from health, education, police, and social care to ensure the partnership delivers on its priorities and makes a measurable difference. Your leadership will help embed a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and child-centred practice.


The role will:




Lead and manage the strategic and operational functions of the partnership, including business planning, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Coordinate serious case reviews, rapid reviews, and learning reviews to drive improvements in safeguarding practice. Develop and implement participation strategies to ensure the voices of children, young people, and families shape service delivery. Manage a small, dedicated team and oversee budgets, communications, and training programmes. Represent the partnership at local, regional, and national levels, promoting best practice and innovation.

The successful candidate will:




Be a confident leader with extensive experience in multi-agency safeguarding at both operational and strategic levels. Have strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across agencies. Have a commitment to restorative practice, continuous improvement, and inclusive engagement. Have a relevant professional qualification and good understanding of safeguarding legislation and policy.
