Purpose
To be the responsible person for safeguarding, care-planning and clinical governance, ensuring regulatory compliance (CQC & local-authority standards), protecting the organisation's reputation and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Core Responsibilities
Safeguarding
Lead and oversee all safeguarding processes, ensuring timely reporting, investigation and resolution in line with LA and CQC requirements.
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), providing expert advice and staff support.
Care Planning & Clinical Governance
Contribute to person-centred, outcome-focused care planning; support Trusted Assessors to keep care and support holistic, enabling and compliant
Develop and implement the clinical-governance framework - audits, quality assurance, incident management and risk assessment - working with the external governance partner.
Mentorship & Training
Provide ongoing mentorship and supervision on safeguarding, clinical best practice and policy updates.
Regulation & Liaison
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, support regulatory inspections, contribute to action plans and collaborate with management, local authorities, professionals and regulators.
Person Specification
Essential
Extensive experience in safeguarding and clinical governance within a healthcare or social care setting.
Pro-active, highly organised and able to work independently across office, home and community settings
Enhanced DBS and full UK driving licence
Experience in mentorship
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Desirable
Proven record of investigating and closing safeguarding cases within statutory timescales
Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills (audit/data dashboards)
