We are seeking a dedicatedSafeguarding Practitioner to join our Welfare and Safeguarding team, working closely with Student Welfare, Personal Progress Tutors and teaching staff. In this vital role, you will assess student needs and signpost them to appropriate health, mental health and emotional-support agencies, while managing child protection and PREVENT referrals to MASH or other relevant services. You will also offer guidance on bursaries, student finance, housing and Welfare Rights, helping students access the support they need to thrive.
You will recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns with professional curiosity, maintain accurate and timely welfare records, and liaise confidently with external agencies such as police, social care and mental-health services. Representing the school at external meetings and promoting resilience, confidentiality and independence will form an essential part of your practice.
We are looking for someone organised, empathetic and resilient, with excellent communication skills and experience supporting young people. A degree in a related field and knowledge of safeguarding, welfare rights, mental health or student finance is desirable, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, and as part of the Eastern Education Group, you may support safeguarding activity across partner organisations. If you are passionate about student welfare and ready to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
