Are you a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, or Social Worker with a passion for safeguarding?



Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) Safeguarding Team is offering an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner for Children and Adults.



In this role, you will provide expert safeguarding advice and operational support to the Deputy Head of Safeguarding, working across all aspects of safeguarding for both children and adults.



You will collaborate closely with the Head of Safeguarding, Deputy Head of Safeguarding/Named Nurse for Children and Adults, and the Named Doctor for Safeguarding Children to contribute to the professional leadership of the health service's safeguarding responsibilities. This includes ensuring high standards of practice, promoting partnership working, and supporting the delivery of statutory safeguarding duties across the Trust.



This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, providing flexibility to work both remotely and from the office.



Interviews for this position will be held across the 11th and 12th of February.



As a Safeguarding Specialist Practitioner, you will hold a pivotal position in promoting safe and inclusive care across the Trust. This role involves providing expert advice and intervention in complex safeguarding cases concerning both adults and children, including matters related to domestic abuse, sexual safety, and high-risk scenarios.



You will actively participate in statutory safeguarding processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and national standards. Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners on areas such as SEND and MAPPA, you will contribute to robust risk management and safeguarding planning.



In addition, you will deliver safeguarding training and supervision, support policy development, and champion best practice across the organisation. Your work will directly safeguard service users and their families, mitigate risks of harm, and strengthen the Trust's safeguarding culture. By ensuring timely, expert intervention and promoting inclusive practice, you will help maintain patient safety, uphold legal and regulatory obligations, and build staff confidence in managing safeguarding concerns.



The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Applicants should be aware that individuals requiring a visa to work in the UK, the Trust only provides sponsorship for registered healthcare practitioner roles (this does not include Healthcare Support Workers) . This is an essential requirement, and the Trust is unable to offer you a role if you do not meet Trust requirements for sponsorship and Home Office requirements for a visa.
