Introduction

  • Sound Knowledge of the Combatting Drugs Partnership
  • Significant understanding of the drivers of drug use and drug-related harm, including County Lines, homelessness, Criminal and Sexual Exploitation through to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking and acquisitive offending.
  • Significant experience at an appropriate level of drug misuse in a culturally diverse authority with multiple deprivation and complex social issues.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully working with colleagues and partners to scope and develop effective policies and strategies, ensuring existing policies are reviewed and improved, and, where relevant, existing best practice is expanded and implemented

This is a strategic role that will operate through a public health lens, working in conjunction with a wide range of stakeholders whose strategic priorities will be to break drug supply, deliver a world class treatment and recovery plan and achieve a shift in the demand for drugs as set out in the Strategy.

What we're looking for
  • Significant experience in drug misuse, partnership working, and strategy development within complex, diverse communities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current legislation, policy, and practice related to combatting drug use.
  • Ability to research, analyse, and interpret data to inform strategic plans and actions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders and presenting reports.
  • Strong organisational skills, including planning, managing workloads, and delivering objectives under pressure.
  • Commitment to equality, continuous professional development, and flexible working.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
52,269 - 54,360 per annum (P04)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
