We're currently recruiting for a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager (SHEQ).

Example duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Director, the SHEQ manager has full responsibility for the day-to-day SHEQ activities including but not limited to the below:
Manage the integrated management system comprising ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 on a day-to-day basis.
Manage and maintain our certifications with the British Standards Institution, Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme, industry schemes such as Achilles, SafeContractor SSIP etc.
Support the Sales team in the completion of PQQ and tender SHEQ questionnaires.
Provide induction briefings to new staff and ongoing support to ensure that all staff have the necessary certifications for site work.
Ensure consistent application of best practices across all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) responsibilities.
Actively participate in risk management activities, including risk assessments, audits, inspections, safety meetings, and on-site work reviews.
Maintain the Training Matrix, ensuring all staff training is planned, tracked, and completed in accordance with company procedures.
Work with our 3rd party auditors to conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of SHEQ management systems and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate Occupational Health requirements and liaise with relevant providers
Assist in communicating and promoting SHEQ policies, procedures, and information throughout the workforce.
Stay current with and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Develop, review, and update safe operational practices and procedures as needed.
Support the implementation and achievement of SHEQ objectives and performance indicators.
Monitor site work activities, advise supervisors on risk control measures, and create or update Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) accordingly.
Support the investigation, documentation, and reporting of H&S incidents, identifying root causes and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Review emergency preparedness plans and ensure Emergency Response Team roles are filled with trained and competent personnel.
Maintain COSHH assessments and provide guidance on the safe use, handling, and storage of hazardous substances.
Provide input in projects SHEQ management plans.
Desired skills and qualifications
ISO 9001/14001/45001 IRCA lead auditor certificate
NEBOSH Certificate
Environmental awareness
Formal incident investigation
Preferred Experience:
Solid understanding of SHEQ practices and processes.
Strong background in managing, maintaining and improving accredited Management systems.
Sound knowledge of ISO accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
Proven ability to negotiate, influence stakeholders, and drive positive change.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
Administrative Skills:
Presentation skills: ability to present to all levels of management where required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, databases, email and internet.
Effective communication skills.
Procedure writing skills.
Main place of work: Central London / Heathrow Airport / Hybrid Working
