What will you be doing?
We are seeking a
Safety & Quality Engineer
to join our team supporting key
defence and automotive programmes
. This role is offering the opportunity to apply your expertise in
functional safety, quality management, and process improvement
within a highly technical engineering environment.
You will play a vital role in ensuring that
systems, processes, and products
meet stringent
safety and quality standards
, while driving continuous improvement across engineering programmes.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Lead and support
safety and quality audits
to
ISO 9001
standards, ensuring compliance across engineering projects.
Apply knowledge of
functional safety (ISO 26262)
to review and improve systems and processes.
Provide
cross-functional input
into engineering decisions, ensuring safety and quality considerations are embedded throughout the lifecycle.
Conduct
audit reviews
, identify
gaps
, and support corrective and preventive action planning.
Contribute to
cost reduction initiatives
through process optimisation and continuous improvement activities.
Engage with
engineering management teams
to ensure effective governance and reporting.
Collaborate with colleagues in
aerospace and defence projects
, applying best practice to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient solutions.
Support the preparation of
safety cases, quality documentation, and compliance reports
for internal and external stakeholders.

Passionate about engineering

Qualifications
Essential:
Proven experience in
safety or quality engineering
within the
defence and/or automotive sectors
.
Strong working knowledge of
ISO 9001
and
ISO 26262
.
Experience conducting
audits, reviews, and process assessments
.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Background in
aerospace, defence, or automotive industries
.
Eligible for UK security clearance.
Desirable:
Experience in
cost reduction and continuous improvement
projects.
Familiarity with
safety case preparation
and compliance documentation.
Knowledge of additional industry standards relevant to defence and automotive engineering.
