Safety Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct audits of laboratories and common spaces.
Conduct sampling and perform equipment inspections to ensure worker safety.
Review laboratory processes and testing samples for categorization.
Train employees on best practices for safety.
Respond to medical emergencies and chemical spills.
Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and working practices.
Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA and DOL standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Minimum 1 year experience in Safety
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. with additional hours, as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
