Salaried General Practitioner Responsible to: GP Partners /Practice Manager Accountable to: The Partners at Grangewood Surgery Location: Grangewood Surgery, Chester Road, Shiney Row, Houghton le Spring, Tyne & Wear, DH4 4RB Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive in line with BMA Model Salaried GP Terms Sessions: 4-6 sessions Job Purpose To provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care services to the patients of Grangewood Surgery as part of a supportive and progressive clinical team. This post is funded through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and is intended for GPs within two years of achieving CCT and who have not yet held a substantive GP role. Key Responsibilities Provide consultations during clinics, dealing with a wide range of health needs Participate in duty doctor and telephone triage systems Provide appropriate clinical care, management, and referrals Use EMIS Web for all patient records and administration Complete relevant medical documentation, including reports, referrals, prescriptions Collaborate effectively with the nursing team, admin team, and community staff Engage in regular practice meetings, clinical governance, and educational activities Participate in monthly protected CPD afternoons and utilise allocated PDP time Contribute to the continued development of the PCN and multidisciplinary working Supervise and support learners (if desired), including F2s, registrars, or medical students
