Job Description

We are looking to grow our GP team at Beacon in preparation for a new GP Contract. We are a innovative, proactive, single practice PCN providing care for our patients in our practice area covering Ivybridge and Plympton. We have a large and resilient team and are looking for the right person who enjoys patient continuity, teamwork and innovation. As a practice we have a large supportive clinical team of predominantly GPs but also paramedics, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, first contact physiotherapists and mental health workers to make a large impact on addressing GP Workload. We are training practice with 10 GP trainers and good links with the Postgraduate Deanery and Peninsular Medical School.
We are fortunate a great deal of stability in a time of uncertainty within NHS General Practice and consider ourselves to be a good place for newly qualified GPs to have the opportunity to thrive. We are looking for the right GP for our practice and are happy to wait for the right candidate. We are open to portfolio working with many of our GPs having other interests.
As quality of life is important, we structure our workload and support each other to manage day-to-day demand. We have a Duty GP-led Acute Hub supported by our Allied Healthcare Professionals (Urgent Care Team) but recognise the importance for continuity for patients and GPs alike. We operate Usual GP lists which are stratified to enable equity of workload across the practice.
