Salaried General Practitioner (ARRS) Salary: Negotiable Main Place of Work: Shah Zaman Surgery Responsible to: Dr Asad Zaman Sessions: 4 sessions per week Summary of Responsibilities The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred care, managing a caseload of patientsat Shah Zaman Surgery. They will address a wide range of health needs for both registered and temporary patients. The role includes face-to-face surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, administrative duties, and adherence to contractual obligations (GMS/enhanced services/DES). The post-holder will work collaboratively with colleagues at the practice and with the wider PCN team as needed to ensure safe, effective, and integrated care.
Main Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, and manage patient queries, reports, and correspondence efficiently. Triage patients presenting to the practice via telephone, online, or in person. Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions for self-referred patients or referrals from colleagues. Assess and manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed patient problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Develop care plans with patients in line with practice protocols, promoting healthy lifestyles and patient education. Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex needs. Maintain clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collect data for audit and comply with QOF requirements. Deliver enhanced services as required. Manage and review patient test results. Refer patients to secondary care or other relevant services, including internal PCN team members.
Prescribe and issue repeat and acute prescriptions in line with local and national guidelines. Other Responsibilities Comply with all relevant practice policies, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety. Commit to lifelong learning, audit, and evidence-based practice. Contribute to clinical audits, standard-setting, and summarising patient records.
Attend relevant training, events, and practice meetings. Contribute to the education and training of trainees, students, and staff. Confidentiality Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, staff, and practice information in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.
