to join our team. An interesting, diverse and varied role working in the saleroom and also out on location. An exciting opportunity to join a local, vibrant, family run auction house working in the world of auctions, antiques and collectables.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
-Valuing and processing goods for auction, writing receipts, listing, numbering and organising clients property.
-Moving and handling of all goods both pre and post sale to include furniture, clocks, rugs, paintings, glass, ceramics, jewellery etc.
-Setting up the auctions including moving, displaying, lotting, cataloguing lots and assisting with condition reports.
-Preparing purchased lots for shipping.
-Telephone bidding.
-Driving the Company Van, uplifting goods for auction and sorting items for disposal.
-Undertaking house clearances.
-Organising and tidying the saleroom.
We invite applications from candidates who:
Are able to demonstrate a working knowledge of valuing antiques and collectables and ideally have experience of the auction process.
Have previous experience of handling and being responsible for moving and organising stock or goods.
Have experience of driving a Luton Van or similar and undertaking removals.
Are organised, efficient and can demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Enjoy working in a small team in a busy work environment and also enjoy working with the general public.
