Job Description

Working with colleagues in our Sales and Accounts team, the

Sales & Administration Assistant

will learn to perform a wide range of tasks covering sales & marketing, purchase, VAT and general business administration.

The Person



The successful candidate will have completed AAT Level 2, BTEC Level 3 Business or 2 have A-level passes in Business, Accountancy or related subjects and have a strong interest in pursuing a career in either Sales or Accounts Administration.

The successful candidate should be organised, have excellent time keeping, be able to focus, have pride in their work and be able to solve problems. They will need to be comfortable working in a group environment and happy to learn new skills & processes to adapt to the changing world of business.

Characteristics that always benefit someone in this role are an inquisitive nature, the ability to communicate with colleagues and clients orally and by email and to work effectively under time pressure at points in the day.

Main Activities



Sales

- Processing of invoices, credits, quotations, orders and other documents

- Credit control (statements and follow up procedures for collecting outstanding debts)

- Posting sales receipts through cashbook

- Banking reconciliation (including discount and fee adjustments)

- Periodic (monthly) sales reports

- Periodic (monthly) nominal transfer

- Help maintain customer information in the firm's accounting software and google maps

- Provide ad-hoc administrative support to field sales

Other Activities



The role provides an opportunity to gain experience of a wide range of accounts admin duties covering purchase & nominal ledgers, cash book, duty deferment and VAT using MTD.

Training and Education



Full and continuous training will be given together with funding to study.

Terms of Employment



Start date: immediately

Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. 9.00am - 4.00pm

Salary: 23,000 - 24,000 pa. depending on experience and qualifications

Holidays: 25 days per annum (excluding Bank Holidays)

Workplace Pension: Nest

Training & Education: Optional

Bonus: The firm operates a % rate bonus scheme levelled at the discretion of the partners based on year-end financial performance of the company as a whole. The bonus is currently paid annually each December.

Sickness: Statutory requirements and benefits apply

Notice: In the first 3 months, 5 working days, 28 days thereafter.

Probation period: 3 months
