Direct Lighting Supplies is a fast-growing UK supplier of LED lighting products, supplying businesses nationwide through our B2B e-commerce platform. We work closely with trade customers, contractors, and businesses to provide reliable, energy-efficient lighting solutions backed by knowledgeable support and fast delivery.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Sales Administrator to play a key role in adding value to existing customer relationships, improving retention, and generating additional revenue through proactive sales activity.
Role Overview:
This role sits at the heart of our commercial operation.
As a Sales Administrator, you will be responsible for actively developing sales opportunities from existing leads, website enquiries, and current customers, while also ensuring a high standard of customer experience throughout the order journey.
This is not a passive customer service role. While you will handle inbound enquiries, your priority is to add value, increase repeat business, re-engage lapsed customers, and convert enquiries into long-term accounts.
You will proactively contact customers, follow up on quotes and enquiries, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and maintain ongoing relationships that support revenue growth.
You'll work closely with the Managing Director, warehouse, factory, and admin teams to ensure customers receive both excellent service and a commercial sales experience.
Key Responsibilities
:
Proactively contact existing customers to generate repeat business and increase order value
Follow up website enquiries, quotes, and abandoned opportunities to convert them into sales
Re-engage lapsed customers and build structured follow-up activity through the CRM
Identify opportunities to add value through alternative products, upgrades, or complementary items
Manage inbound sales enquiries via phone, email, and live chat, with a strong focus on conversion
Provide live order updates and aftercare follow-ups to strengthen customer relationships
Maintain accurate records of activity, follow-ups, and opportunities within the CRM
Liaise with warehouse, factory, and admin teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment
Feed back customer insights, objections, and opportunities to help improve processes and the website
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a sales support, internal sales, or B2B commercial role
Comfortable making proactive outbound calls to existing customers and warm leads
Strong commercial awareness and a mindset focused on adding value, not just processing orders
Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers
Organised and self-motivated, able to manage follow-ups and priorities independently
Confident using CRM systems, email, and online platforms
Enjoys working in a growing business where initiative and ideas are encouraged
Knowledge of lighting or electrical products is an advantage, but not essential (full training provided)
What We Offer:
Working hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm. Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
26,000 - 30,000 basic salary, depending on experience
Performance-based bonus linked to customer retention, follow-ups, and sales contribution
Company pension and healthcare benefits
Full product and systems training
Supportive, collaborative team environment
Clear progression opportunities into senior internal sales or account management roles
The opportunity to play a meaningful role in the commercial growth of a B2B e-commerce business
Important to Know:
This role will suit someone who enjoys building relationships, following up opportunities, and actively contributing to sales growth.
It is not suited to someone looking for a purely reactive customer service or order-processing position.
How to Apply:
If you enjoy combining sales activity with customer relationship management and want to play an active role in growing a business, we'd love to hear from you.
