We're looking for an organised, proactive, and customer-focused Sales Administrator to join our team and play a key role in driving sales growth and supporting our commercial operations.
Role Overview
The Sales Administrator will act as the central hub of the sales function--managing incoming sales leads, converting new business opportunities, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and supporting the Commercial Director and field sales team with pricing, customer onboarding, and general administration.
This is a busy, varied role requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for delivering great customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Management & Conversion
Handle incoming sales enquiries via phone, email, and website.
Qualify leads, prepare quotes, and follow up to convert into new customers.
Maintain and update the CRM with accurate customer information and sales activity.
Sales Pipeline Coordination
Work closely with the Commercial Director and on-the-road sales team to track leads, opportunities, and follow-ups.
Ensure all activity is logged, up to date, and shared across the team.
Support weekly sales meetings with reports, pipeline updates, and progress tracking.
Pricing & Commercial Support
Assist the Commercial Director in preparing customer pricing, quotes, and proposals.
Help manage pricing files, product lists, and promotional updates.
Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to confirm product availability and pricing accuracy.
Customer Administration
Set up new customer accounts and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Manage order processing, coordinate with logistics, and handle any queries promptly.
Provide after-sales support and maintain strong ongoing relationships with customers.
Office & Team Support
Provide general administrative support to the wider office team.
Support with data entry, reporting, and documentation as required.
Assist with internal communication, filing, and maintaining office organisation.
Attend trade shows and customer meetings occasionally.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in sales administration, customer service, or account support (ideally within food, FMCG, or wholesale).
Strong organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building abilities.
Confident working with CRM systems, Excel, and general office software.
A proactive approach -- comfortable taking ownership, showing initiative and following up leads.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with the wider group of businesses.
Desirable Attributes
Experience within the foodservice or wholesale industry.
Understanding of pricing structures.
A genuine enthusiasm for food and hospitality.
