Following the recent acquisition of this established business, we are seeking a hands-on
Sales & General Manager
who can take ownership of the company's continued growth and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a wider industrial group. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sales strategies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster relationships with clients. This role is pivotal in achieving our business objectives and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Leading and managing daily operations across sales and general business functions
Driving customer acquisition and expanding relationships across the manufacturing sector
Taking a proactive approach to product sourcing - from hydraulic hoses to PPE and niche manufacturing supplies
Delivering tailored solutions to meet diverse and often urgent customer needs
Building and motivating a small team, with a focus on service delivery and commercial results
Reporting directly to the business owner, with a view to stepping into a long-term leadership role
Contributing to the strategic growth of the business, with potential to help lead future acquisitions within the group.
Establish strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure customer loyalty.
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
Experience Requirements
Sales Management : 3+ years (required)
Team Leadership: 3+ years (preferred)
Engineering or manufacturing exposure (advantageous)
Based in or able to commute to Northampton (required)
Skills
Willingness to be hands-on and solve problems creatively
Sales and commercial acumen, with a strong "customer-first" mindset
Experience in general management or a senior operational role
Passion for building lasting client relationships and delivering exceptional service
Strong communication and team leadership skills
Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to grow with the business
Proven experience in a sales management role, preferably within electrical/ mechanical engineering or manufacturing.
Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions based on market insights.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills.

Pay: 45,000.00-55,000.00 per year
