To deliver excellent customer service, support sales, and help customers choose the right fish and products while maintaining high shop standards and fish welfare.
Key responsibilities
Greet customers promptly and professionally
Ask key questions before selling fish or setups, including tank size, tank type and existing fish
Advise customers on fish compatibility, feeding and basic care
Actively upsell relevant products such as food, plants, caves, wood and treatments
Serve customers in the correct order and manage queues fairly
Process sales accurately at the till
Help maintain clean and well stocked shelves, fridges and display areas
Support tank inspections and report any fish health concerns to supervisors
Follow all company procedures for fish handling and bagging
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
Required skills and qualities
Friendly, confident and professional communication
Willingness to learn about fish and aquarium products
Good attention to detail
Ability to stay calm and focused when the shop is busy
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable working as part of a team
Experience
Retail or customer service experience preferred but not essential
Training will be provided
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
