Sales assistant, Retail plant nursery, Silkstone, Barnsley.

We are looking for an EXPERIENCED SALES assistant with a background in retail sales.

Flexible hours, flexible holidays and flexible rota determined a month in advance. It's the right person that is important to us, thus we can be flexible and fit around that right person.

Between 12 to 18 hours a week

Over time available in busy periods

The nursery is open seven days a week 10am - 4pm. Working hours will be based around these opening times, occasionally a little earlier or a little later.

Must be able to work some weekends.

Minimum 2+ years retail sales experience or independent store required for application.

You must be positive, enthusiastic, friendly, dedicated; whilst an interest or knowledge of gardening is helpful it is not required.

The Sales assistant is accountable for ensuring that all customer transactions and other activities in store are in line with and compliant with our company policies and procedures.

The sales assistant will help with the general day to day operations of the nursery, duties include:

Serving customers

Helping and advising customers to then create upsales

Maintain displays and general tidiness'

General work around the shop and counter including working the till and card machine, and answering the phone

General horticultural work around the nursery including;

Weeding, growing, potting, sowing, trimming, pruning, labelling, watering, sweeping etc.
