AYT Foods is the first Afro-Caribbean grocery store in Fife, dedicated to providing quality products, excellent customer service, and a welcoming shopping experience for our community. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our growing team.

As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring customers have the best shopping experience. You'll be responsible for helping customers, keeping the store clean and organised, and supporting daily operations. This role includes manual handling and requires someone with energy, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner Drive sales through excellent customer service and product knowledge Operate the till and handle cash/card transactions accurately Restock shelves, rotate products, and maintain store cleanliness Assist with deliveries and manual handling of stock Ensure store displays are neat, tidy, and attractive Follow company policies and procedures

Requirements:

Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not essential) Physically fit to handle manual lifting and stock movement Strong communication and interpersonal skills Punctual, reliable, and well-presented Customer-centric mindset with a can-do attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours:

Monday - Saturday, Minimum of 42 hours per week, 5 - 6 days a week between 10 am and 7 pm. Each shift of more than 6 hours includes a 30 minute unpaid break. One day off per week could be agreed in advance, but approval would be based on business needs. Additional hours beyond 40 in a week are paid at the hourly rate.
