As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our off license store. You will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the store's appearance, and contributing to our overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries.
Handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently.

Stock Management:

Assist in the stocking, shelving, and rotation of merchandise.
Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or overstock situations.
Ensure products are correctly labeled and priced.

Store Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store appearance.
Perform regular cleaning and tidying tasks.
Ensure all store signage is up-to-date and accurate.

Compliance:

Adhere to all legal regulations regarding the sale of alcohol and tobacco.
Verify customer age when selling age-restricted products.
Report any suspicious or irregular customer behavior to management.

Cash Handling:

Operate the cash register, handle payments, and provide change accurately.
Reconcile cash and sales receipts at the end of each shift.
Follow cash handling policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred but not required. Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and their various types is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and follow all store policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the sales team in achieving sales targets and goals
- Sell products or services to customers based on their needs and preferences

- Use basic math skills to calculate prices, discounts, and totals for customers
- Upsell additional products or services to increase sales revenue
- Maintain a high level of phone etiquette when interacting with customers
- Organise and update customer information in the CRM system
- Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Experience:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic math skills for calculating prices and discounts
- Experience in upselling or cross-selling is a plus
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and customer service best practices
- Strong organisational skills to keep track of customer information and sales activities
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:

Retail sales: 2 years (preferred) customer service: 1 year (preferred)
