SALES ASSISTANT

Overview

We have a great opportunity for a full-time sales assistant to join our Harrogate shop team. Our Harrogate shop is open 7 days a week and we'll be looking for someone who is flexible to work on a rota basis, including regular weekends and Bank Holidays.

We are looking for someone who is truly customer-focused. You will possess a positive can-do approach to your job and take pride in providing excellent customer service to our new and loyal customers. You will be highly organised with excellent time keeping and will have a natural enthusiasm for representing the Sophie Allport brand.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and engage customers, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience. Assist customers in finding products and offer helpful guidance to support their choices. Answer customer queries confidently and share excellent knowledge of our collections and promotions. Keep the store and product displays tidy, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times. Stay informed about current offers and help set up promotional displays. Take part in stock control, including replenishing shelves, receiving deliveries, and storing merchandise safely. Process cash and card payments accurately and efficiently. Support end-of-day procedures, including balancing tills and cashing up. Remain aware of relevant risk assessments and follow all Health & Safety measures. Adhere to Health & Safety policies to maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues.

Experience, Requirements & Attributes

Previous retail experience or relevant experience working in a customer facing environment. Knowledge of till systems. Organised and proactive in approach. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. A team player. Adaptable to change. Keen eye for detail. An interest in lifestyle, homewares, and interiors is an advantage. The successful candidate must have Right to Work in the UK and live within commutable distance.
