Role Description

Are you practical, hardworking, and enjoy hands-on work? We're looking for a

Sales Assistant

to join us at our

Lords Builders Merchants branch in Westbourne Grove

.

This is a varied and

physically active role

, primarily stock handling, supporting deliveries, and helping in the cutting shop -- with occasional trade counter coverage to serve customers. If you're looking for a role where you'll stay busy, work with a friendly team, and learn new skills, this could be the perfect fit.

Responsibilities:

Assist with

unloading yard deliveries

and moving stock into the right locations

Support our Timber Cutter in the cutting shop

, helping prepare timber, plywood, MDF, and sheet materials

Keep shelves stocked and displays tidy, ensuring products are priced and presented well

Handle boxes, timber, and sheet materials safely and efficiently

Provide occasional cover at the trade counter, helping customers when needed

Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas

Help with ordering and stock control, liaising with suppliers when necessary

Report stock issues to the Branch Manager daily

Follow all

Health & Safety

guidelines, including correct manual handling practices

Salary: 30-32,000 per annum

Hours: 7.30am-5.30pm Mon-Fri, 8am-1pm alternate Saturdays

Holiday: 21 days per year plus Bank Holidays

Requirements

Someone comfortable with

physical, hands-on work

-- lifting, carrying, and stocking

Builder's Merchant experience is an advantage

A positive, reliable, and proactive attitude

Good communication and customer service skills

Enjoys being part of a close-knit team and helping colleagues

Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks

Eligible to work in the UK

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
