We are seeking a proactive and personable Sales Assistant to join our retail team. Friendly and presentable. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves engaging with customers, promoting products, and ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience in a small, family run sports shop. The successful applicant will contribute to the organisation's sales targets while maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide attentive assistance throughout their visit Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products or services Utilise merchandising techniques to display products attractively and maximise sales opportunities Upsell additional items or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenue Maintain thorough knowledge of current promotions, store policies, and product information Handle customer queries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy Manage stock levels, organise displays, and ensure the sales floor remains tidy and inviting Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system Assist in organising store layouts to optimise shopping flow and product visibility

Experience

Previous experience in retail or customer service roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. Interest in sports equipment and sports in general. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Time management abilities to prioritise responsibilities during busy periods. Excellent phone etiquette for handling remote customer interactions confidently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour
