Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Assistant to join our team at Brighton.


The Role


We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at a busy builders merchants. You will be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing advice, processing sales, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent product knowledge, communication skills, and a can-do attitude.


The Requirements


Previous experience in a retail, trade counter, or builders merchants environment (preferred).


Knowledge of building materials and construction products is desirable.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


A proactive and customer-focused approach.


Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.


Key Responsibilities:


Greet and assist customers in the branch and on the phone.


Provide accurate advice on products, prices, and stock availability.


Process customer orders, quotations, and returns efficiently.


Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the sales counter and displays.


Support the trade counter and help manage the sales area stock.


Develop strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.


Liaise with the yard and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.


Handle cash/card payments and operate the EPOS system.


The Hours


Week:1 Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00
Week:2 Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00 Saturday: 08:00 12:00
