About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, knowledgeable Sales Associate to join our shop floor team at Guthrie & Ghani.

This is a customer-facing role at the heart of our business -- perfect for someone who loves fabrics, sewing, and helping people bring their creative ideas to life. You'll deliver excellent customer service, support day-to-day shop operations, and help maintain the welcoming, inspiring environment Guthrie & Ghani is known for.

The role includes receiving and handling deliveries, moving boxes and stock, and safely moving and handling rolls of fabric as part of day-to-day shop floor activity. Manual handling and health & safety training will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing warm, professional, and knowledgeable customer service in-store, by phone, and via email Advising customers on fabrics, patterns, dressmaking techniques, and project planning Processing and preparing orders for in-store and online customers (Guthrie & Ghani, Patterntrace, and Sewing Society) Cutting fabric accurately and preparing orders for dispatch Supporting Sewing Society kit preparation when needed Keeping the shop floor and studio tidy, organised, and beautifully presented Replenishing stock and supporting visual merchandising under guidance Working collaboratively with the wider team to keep the shop running smoothly

About You

You'll be a great fit if you:

Are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about sewing, fabrics, and dressmaking Enjoy helping customers and creating a welcoming, supportive experience Are reliable, organised, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks Have experience in customer service (retail experience is a bonus) Are happy to be hands-on -- including cutting fabric and handling stock Communicate clearly and work well as part of a team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
