MSM aerospace fabricators is a leading manufacturer that specialises in hydroforming and welded fabrications. We design, develop, and deliver a range of quality approved, complex, technical solutions to the aerospace sector. We work collaboratively with leading aerospace OEMs, globally, to create valuable intellectual property. As a result of continued investment and expansion, we have an opportunity for a new Sales & Commercial Manager to join our team reporting to the Managing Director.
Role Overview
We're looking for a commercially astute and growth-focused Sales & Commercial Manager to lead our customer engagement, bid strategy, and revenue generation across our aerospace manufacturing operations. Specialising in pressing, fabrication, and welding, you'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, managing key accounts, overseeing the bid and NPI process, and ensuring commercial success in line with shareholder expectations. This is a high-impact role that blends strategic thinking, technical understanding, and customer-centric execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Customer Engagement
Identify and develop new customer relationships across aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and lateral markets
Deliver an exceptional customer experience
Represent the company professionally at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings
Oversee the gated New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed customer expectations
Enquiry Management & Bid Strategy
Own the customer enquiry process, ensuring timely responses and accurate pipeline tracking
Lead the preparation and submission of bids, ensuring compliance with internal processes and customer requirements
Ensure all quotations meet gross margin targets and provide actionable insights to NPI and production teams
Commercial Oversight
Manage pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and margin analysis across all customer engagements
Support supplier selection and development through commercial insight and industry knowledge
Ensure NDAs and commercial agreements are properly executed and escalated when necessary
Forecasting & Reporting
Produce monthly sales reports detailing pipeline activity, bid values, top opportunities, and forward orderbook
Collaborate with the Programme Manager to align sales forecasts with operational delivery
Present commercial performance updates to senior leadership and shareholders
Requirements
Proven experience in sales and commercial management within aerospace or advanced manufacturing
Understanding of pressing, fabrication, and welding processes would be advantageous
Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace customer expectations
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Proficient in CRM systems, sales dashboards, and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with confidence and clarity
