The Clyde Group is a fast-growing, multi-service business operating across waste management, transport, and environmental services. Built on a foundation of operational excellence and entrepreneurial thinking, we're now ready to invest in a high-calibre
Sales Director
to take our sales strategy and performance to the next level.
The Opportunity:
This is not a "business-as-usual" Sales Director role. Initially, your mission will be to
audit and analyse our current sales function
across all divisions. You will then present a clear
3-, 6-, and 9-month strategic plan
to the Managing Director, focusing on growth, structure, and scalable processes.
You'll work closely with the existing team, identifying quick wins and long-term opportunities. Once a foundation is set, you'll have the autonomy to
build a high-performing sales centre
-- with the flexibility to shape structure, people, and potentially relocate the commercial base to
Edinburgh or the West Coast
.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct a full review of existing sales processes, team capabilities, systems, and performance metrics.
Deliver a phased sales transformation plan (3, 6, 9 months) to the MD.
Lead and support the existing team through change, coaching, and tactical delivery.
Identify and implement improvements across
online conversion
,
B2B sales
, and
strategic partnerships
.
Develop scalable sales systems, CRM usage, and reporting frameworks.
Build and lead a new sales centre/team structure fit for national growth.
Work collaboratively with operations, marketing, and finance to align commercial targets with delivery.
Represent The Clyde Group in high-value negotiations and sector engagement.
What We're Looking For:
Proven success in
sales leadership
within the
service sector
-- waste, logistics, facilities, utilities, or similar is highly advantageous.
Strong experience in
online lead conversion
,
B2B sales
, and
solution selling
.
Commercially astute, strategic, and data-driven -- but not afraid to roll your sleeves up and lead from the front.
Track record of building or transforming sales teams and processes.
Highly organised, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Visionary but practical -- someone who sees the big picture and knows how to build towards it.
Based in Central Scotland or willing to relocate/work between Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the West Coast.
What We Offer:
A blank canvas with real influence and strategic freedom.
Competitive salary and performance-linked bonus.
Company car or allowance.
A direct line to the MD and board-level exposure.
Scope to build a function and leave a legacy in a rapidly scaling business.
Job Type: Full-time
