Role Overview



We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineer to lead and grow our sales efforts across domestic and international markets for OMS products. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of marine engineering solutions and be capable of identifying, developing, and managing client relationships across commercial, defence, and superyacht markets.

In particular, you will be expected to drive growthwith yacht builders, designers, owners' representatives, and management companies to position our engineering services and systems as best-in-class.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve group company growth targets in marine engineering markets, including the superyacht sector. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the marine industry, both in the UK and internationally. Collaborate internally other BSI Marine Group Sales colleagues to help deliver group commercial proposal packages and initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with shipbuilders, naval architects and marine contractors. Work closely with superyacht stakeholders including brokers, shipyards, technical managers, owner's representatives and captains to deliver tailored engineering solutions. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to produce bespoke technical proposals and value-added solutions for high-end vessels. Lead the tendering and bidding process, ensuring accurate pricing, documentation, and compliance. Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and client meetings, including events such as the Monaco Yacht Show, METSTRADE, and others. Monitor and report on emerging trends and client expectations in the superyacht sector to ensure our offerings remain competitive and innovative. Provide sales forecasts, performance metrics, and strategic insight to senior management.

Requirements



Essential:



Proven track record in technical sales, preferably in marine, engineering sales, or superyacht markets. Strong understanding of marine systems (e.g., propulsion, thrusters, power management, hydraulics, or refit services). Experience engaging with superyacht shipyards, designers, or owner's teams is highly desirable. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. (due to the nature of the business this is typically one or two visits a month within Europe). Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:



Degree or HND in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Established network within the superyacht industry. Familiarity with luxury yacht build and refit cycles, classification societies (e.g., Lloyd's, ABS, RINA), and IMO/MCA regulations.
